Handheld Companion

A touch-optimized GUI to improve your handheld gaming computer experience. Features include:

• Motion control, also known as gyro control, through a device's inertial measurement unit (IMU, gyroscope and accelerometer) or an external sensor. Settings are available for racing, first- and third-person gaming, and emulators.
• QuickTools overlay, with easy access to settings and information such as TDP, Auto TDP, GPU, screen refresh rate, frame limiter, resolution, brightness, volume, power mode, and battery level.
• Virtual controller simulation through VIIPER of the Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller, Sony DualShock 4 Controller, Sony DualSense Controller, Steam Controller, Steam Deck Controller, and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
• Profile settings system with automatic detection of the active game and application of settings.
• Gamepad remapping to mouse and keyboard, with joystick and trigger dead-zone adjustment.
• PS Remote Play support with DS4 controller, including motion and touchpad.
• 3D Controller overlay for stream recordings.
• Hotkeys for various conveniences.

Handheld Companion is funded entirely by community support. Through our Patreon, contributors in the Early Access tier receive exclusive builds at least two weeks before they are released publicly. This helps supporters enjoy the latest features sooner while directly contributing to the ongoing development of the project and the acquisition of new devices.

Virtual controller backend

Virtual Xbox 360, DualShock 4, DualSense, Steam Controller, Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers are provided by VIIPER. VIIPER is included with Handheld Companion and can be configured in the controller settings. The all-in-one installer also installs the HidHide filter driver used to hide physical controllers when required.

Overlay

The software has multiple built-in performance metric overlay options.

QuickTools

On-the-fly adjustment of TDP (global and profile), brightness, screen resolution and frequency, hotkeys, and motion control profile settings. Summonable with a user-defined button combination, including special keys mapped on certain supported devices. The window can be aligned as the user sees fit (left, right, or floating).

Virtual touchpad

Virtual touchpad on top of your gaming sessions. The virtual touchpad mimics the DualShock 4 physical touchpad and provides compatibility with PS Remote Play and games that make use of Steam Input touchpads.

Installers are available as an all-in-one setup. Run the install.exe as administrator and you'll be set!
