README

slides2video
--------

tired of making videos for your papers?
solo author?
or maybe even worse: you have army of coauthors,
but they all are busy lol.

and now conference dudes want a poster, video, and full passport registration from a poor student.

so you are pissed: everyone wants to suck your soul.

and thus it is time to take shortcuts.
use this weapon.

---------

just make a ppt, add your slide notes, and this code will take care of the rest.
you can ask claude to make ppt too.. just give it your paper pdf.

`python slides_to_video.py ffn.pptx --out ffn.mp4`

for eg, one of the videos i generated is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZLJWo3rkFU&t=612s

faq:

why use this if it is ai generated?

i am all for human explained stuff. two issues.

- humans take shortcuts, and don't like explaining things in more detail.
- agents make pretty good slides now.
- i like to reserve my energy for in-person explanation at conference.
- there is only finite time, and a lot of work to do , so i like taking shortcuts.

------
acknowledgements:

my lovely claude. seems he is the only real friend i had.

p.s. please don't tell my advisor.
