TrustCheck - Municipal E-Governance Platform

TrustCheck is an advanced AI-driven verification platform for combating fake news, deepfakes, and misinformation. By employing a multi-modal 4-axis verification system, it scrutinizes text, image context, and audio forensics metadata.

🚀 Setup & Execution

This project uses Docker to automatically build the dependencies and launch both the API backend and the web frontend.

Prerequisites

Environment Variables

  1. Create a .env file in the root folder based on the backend .env.example.
  2. Add your GROQ_API_KEY to the .env file if not already present.
  3. Make sure to set AUTH_SECRET and JWT_SECRET for secure authentication.

Running the System

To launch the full system, open a terminal in the project root directory and run:

docker compose up --build -d

This will:

  • Build a Python base environment for the FastAPI backend, complete with PyTorch and other AI dependencies.
  • Build the Node.js frontend using an optimized Alpine Linux container.
  • Expose the API on http://localhost:8000 and the Web App on http://localhost:3000.

To view logs for the active services:

docker compose logs -f

To stop the containers:

docker compose down

🏗️ Architecture Stack

  • Frontend: Next.js 14, React, Tailwind CSS, Auth.js.
  • Backend: FastAPI, Python 3.11, Docker, Groq API (LLaMA 3).
  • Database: SQLite (mounted via persistent volume).
  • ML Services: EXIF Data extraction, Audio Metadata Forensics (Mutagen), CLIP (Context Consistency Pipeline).
