Made a tool to help me focus on important areas of a codebase first. (r/rust)

The amount of code I have to look at keeps going up, mostly because of AI. Most of the time I just want the shape of a change first — types, signatures, interfaces — and then decide what's worth drilling into. This important info tends to be hard to find in a big PR and in my opinion has the most…

README

Codect

Selectable focused views and diffs of a codebase. Codect strips implementation bodies so a person or a tool can read the shape of the code — declarations, types, and signatures — without reading how it works. It supports Elm, Haskell, Python, and Rust.

codect show --mode signatures --path src/ # outline a revision
codect diff --mode types HEAD~1 HEAD # focused diff
codect tui show --mode types # interactive terminal browser
nix profile install github:nixypanda/codect # install
nix develop # or work from a checkout
