This repository updates the content of cadenceworkflow.io, the official website of the Cadence project.
See the codecadenceworkflow.io is the documentation site for Cadence. This repository contains its Docusaurus source.
π Contributing to Cadence? The Contributing Guide covers the project-wide process. For site setup and development, see CONTRIBUTING.md.
Requires Node.js 22 or newer.
npm install
npm run start
The development server runs at http://localhost:3000/ and opens a browser window. Most edits reload without a restart.
To write the static site to build/ for any static host, run:
npm run build
CONTRIBUTING.md also covers Node version pinning, npm registry setup, running a production preview before you open a pull request, and adding or moving pages.
The live site is published by the Build and Deploy workflow (publish-to-gh-pages.yml), which runs on every push to master and can also be triggered manually. It builds with npm ci && npm run build, deploys the build directory to the gh-pages branch, and then asks the Algolia crawler to re-index the site.
You can also run npm run deploy locally to build and push to gh-pages, using either USE_SSH=true npm run deploy or GIT_USER=<your GitHub username> npm run deploy. In normal use, let the workflow handle deployment.
Environment variables can override selected settings in docusaurus.config.ts for other deployment targets. The workflow reads them from the repository's production environment.
For cadenceworkflow.io, set:
# Site origin, used to build absolute URLs.
CADENCE_DOCS_URL=https://cadenceworkflow.io
# Served from the domain root.
BASE_URL=/
# GitHub org that owns the repository.
ORGANIZATION_NAME=cadence-workflow
When a variable is unset, the workflow uses defaults based on the repository name, so a fork deploys to /<repo>/ with no extra configuration. Fork preview setup is documented in CONTRIBUTING.md. The values above apply only to cadenceworkflow.io and should not be copied to a fork.
A custom domain such as cadenceworkflow.io needs a static/CNAME file. Content under static/ is copied to the build root, placing that file at the site root. The file is not committed; the deploy workflow writes it from the CUSTOM_DOMAIN secret. Forks do not have that secret or a custom domain.
Documentation changes are welcome. CONTRIBUTING.md explains how to set up the site locally, verify your work, and open a pull request.
That guide also covers homepage carousel updates, driven by src/data/featuredLinks.yaml, and release data updates under static/data/releases/. A scheduled workflow usually handles the release data.
