Compilation Guide

You will require Android Studio 2025.1.4, Android NDK 27.2.12479018 and Android SDK 36.

1. Clone the Cherrygram source code with its submodules:

   git clone --recursive --shallow-submodules https://github.com/arslan4k1390/Cherrygram.git Cherrygram
   

   In case you forgot the --recursive flag, change to the Telegram directory and run:

   git submodule init && git submodule update --init --recursive --depth=1
   

2. Switch to main_Reproducible_Builds branch and follow the instructions listed in README.md
3. Fill out storeFile, storePassword, keyAlias, keyPassword in all module build.gradle files (TMessagesProj_App, TMessagesProj_AppHuawei, TMessagesProj_AppStandalone) to sign your app.
4. Go to https://console.firebase.google.com/, create two android apps with application IDs uz.unnarsx.cherrygram and uz.unnarsx.cherrygram.beta, enable Firebase Messaging and download google-services.json, which should be copied into TMessagesProj folder.
5. Open the project in the Studio (note that it should be opened, NOT imported).
6. Fill out values in TMessagesProj/src/main/java/uz/unnarsx/cherrygram/Extra.kt – each variable contains a link explaining where to get the required data.
7. You are ready to compile and use Cherrygram.
