So Python now has a chance of catching up to Tcl for multithreaded performance - see https://www.hammerdb.com/blog/uncategorized/why-tcl-is-700-f... :-) on Progress on No-GIL CPython	0	Oct 24, 2023
Need I point out that one can avoid both the issues highlighted here by just using Tcl? Regexps in Tcl use a non-backtracking implementation which handles such cases with minimal slowdown, e.g. the example shown with 16 and 32-character inputs: (dep) 7 % timerate {regexp (a+)+b aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa}… on Python, Catastrophic Regular Expressions and the GIL (2013)	0	Nov 14, 2022
Tcl is faster than Python for database benchmarking	55	Nov 1, 2022
I've used this in the past- https://www.hammerdb.com/about.html Not for Postgres, but for running load tests on SQL server. on Building a PostgreSQL load tester	0	Apr 8, 2019
